Ronnie Lorenz

My Spiritual Journey...

My spiritual journey is an on-going journey that began with the influence of my Grandmother Lorenz, passed on by my parents Marvin and Ruby, re-born by my wife Darla, encouraged by our children Robyn and Brooke and nurtured by people like Sam and Judy Thomas, Ken Justice, Joe and Karen Sharp, Roland and Jeri Orr, Dave Dalzell, David Wray, Dickie Porche and Mike Cope. Although my journey continues, what a blessing it is to walk with people like these and many, many others that are part of the Highland Church family that encourage me daily.

My vision for the role of shepherds...

A shepherd should first be a follower of Jesus Christ, seeking to do the will of the Father. We are not in control - God is in control, but we need to seek the lost, strengthen the weak, heal the sick, care for the injured, pray for those seeking prayers. A shepherd should be a servant willing to serve the "cup of water."

My vision for the Church...

My vision for the Highland Church is to be a "safe place" where people meet and seek to find Jesus Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit, a place where we encourage one another on the journey to imitate Him in our daily walk until He comes again. The purpose of the Highland Church should be to "call all people to God". My vision is that the Highland Church both individually and collectively use their God given talents and gifts to serve Abilene and the world by spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.
