Adult Discipleship Ministry

At Highland we believe you never stop growing in your faith.¬†We love meeting together in smaller groups, like Bible Classes, small groups and women’s groups to get to know each other better and grow in our love and understanding of Jesus. If you aren’t in a small group or Bible class, contact bpickett@highlandchurch.org. Check out some of the other Adult Discipleship ministries you can get involved in below.

Small Groups

There are several ways to join a small group:

Twice a year we do a small group launch to begin new small groups. You can attend these events and be put in a group.

There are many open groups, that would love for you to join them. Check with the Highland Adult Discipleship office for direction in joining an open group.

If you have a group of friends or acquaintances at Highland who aren’t in a group. Begin meeting together! It’s that easy.

About Small Groups

Welcoming Ministry

We believe that being a hospitable church is extremely important, and our Welcoming Ministry is a vital part of that. Each week they meet you at the door and try to be a welcoming presence as you arrive at the Highland building, but they do so much more than that. If you’d like to be a part of the welcoming ministry Contact Doris James or Bpickett@highlandchurch.org.

Foster Family Ministry

There are around 1,500 children in foster care in Taylor County. The Foster Family Ministry strives to minister to this group in a couple ways. One by not just ministering to foster children, but to the people who are caring for foster children. Groups of members also visit an emergency shelter here in town to share a meal and get to know families and children who are in crisis.
