Beginning June 22, Mike will be sharing four messages in a series called "First Love:  Experiencing the Good News of Jesus Again."  He and Diane will have just returned from a visit to the ancient city of Ephesus in Turkey.  He'll be leading us through the experience of the gospel in Ephesus through the visits of Paul (Acts 19, 20), the letter of Paul to the Christians in that city, and the letter to Ephesus in Revelation.  He promises not to turn it into a "What I Did on My Vacation" slideshow!  The focus will be on the power of the story of Jesus.  Then and now.

In May, our entire church will be studying the importance of hospitality and welcoming strangers on our Christian journey together. For over a year now, Highland has been praying that God would make us into a more welcoming and hospitable people. As we look throughout Scripture, God always seems to appear on our doorstep as the "stranger." God is right in front of us, and too often we miss Him. God comes to us as the neighborhood visitor in our worship services, the cashier checking us out at the supermarket, or the lonely co-worker nobody has befriended. God is all around us. Will we welcome Him? Will we step out and show hospitality to strangers?

The Storybook Lives series began on October 4th. We explored the lives of many Old and New Testament characters who continue to teach us about faithful and obedient living as we answer the call of God.
