Involvement Ministry

At Highland, our desire is that everyone be engaged in meaningful ministry.  This is a vital part of our Christian journey together.  Each of us has been given spiritual gifts to be used in furthering the good news about Jesus.

Involvement in ministry at Highland may have many different looks.  Some ministries serve the church family, like our Greeters Ministry. our Communion Servers Ministry, and our Dinner Fellowship Ministry.  Other ministries serve both our members and our community, like the Pit Stop Ministry and the Transportation Ministry.  We have a host of ways for fellow Christians to find their niche and serve others.

Often new ministries are formed simply from a dream or passion that surfaces within our church family.  As a permission-giving church, we want to be alert to new opportunities that we encounter, and be prepared to respond to meet needs when they arise.  Launching new ministries is fun and exciting!  We prayerfully seek God's guidance on a regular basis, asking for direction and wisdom as we seek to identify the things He would have us to do in Abilene and around the world.

Dickie Porche serves as Highland's Administrator / Involvement Minister. He helps manage the church's business affairs, facilities, and also works with Highland members to help them find meaningful ways to serve in ministry.
