NEXT SUNDAY, July 6, we will meet at 10:00 a.m. for worship. There will be no adult, youth, or children’s classes. Instead, we will all go to the Gym for a Potluck lunch at 11:45 a.m. Meat and drinks will be provided. Each family should bring a salad OR a vegetable OR a dessert to the kitchen before worship begins. This is going to be a lot of fun; we hope you will join us!
THE CHURCH AT PLAY Wednesday Night Series
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven... (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
This summer, on Wednesday evenings, the Highland family will meet in the Gym at 6 p.m. Bring a "brown bag" meal for your family and an extra to share with a guest. Drinks and dessert will be provided. After we eat together, we'll have a devotional thought.
Following the devotional, all of us will spend time playing together - games, singing, movies, and more. Each week the Church @ Play will highlight a different activity; all will be designed to bring us together as we celebrate this season of rest and recreation. No classes will meet on these Wednesday evenings.
July 2 - Prayer for the Nations
July 9 - Living Water
July 16 - Family Reunion
July 23 - Celebration
July 30 - Gifts
August 6 - A Time to Sing
August 13 - Friends in Fellowship
Make plans to join in the fun!

Prayer Ministry: Everyone is invited to meet with the Highland Prayer Ministry from 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. each Monday in the Highland Prayer Room to lift up in prayer those who are struggling. If you would like to share a prayer need, call the Prayer Request Line at 672-3151.
(return to top)July 6 and 13 are the dates for the Highland family to restock the shelves at the Christian Ministries of Abilene food pantry. The shelves are getting bare! There is always an increase during the summer in the number of clients requesting assistance, because their children who receive free breakfast and lunch during the school year are now at home. This year the rising cost of fuel has also added to the increase. On July 6 and 13 CMA Shopping Lists will be available and you will be given the opportunity to check the items that you would like to help purchase in bulk. Attach a check or cash to the list, and deliver it to the attendants at the CMA table in the Atrium. Thank you for your generous outpouring of love for the hungry in our community.
FaithWorks is seeking individuals or small groups to help provide complete, healthy lunches. If you cannot provide a complete meal, consider making a cash donation or providing the meat entree, and FaithWorks will supplement with side dishes. If you would like to help, please call Becky Almanza at 673-5295.
Celebrate Recovery: A Christ-centered 12-step recovery program meets Sundays in Room 207 at 5:00 p.m. For more information, contact Steve Eller, or see the Highland Celebrate Recovery website at www.crhighland.wordpress.com.
