Christmas Store – Highland Toy & Gift Drive

November 1 - December 13  |  Highland Food Pantry

701 Walnut Street, Abilene, TX, USA

THE CHRISTMAS STORE 2025: As joyful as the holidays can be, they can also be a time of stress. Many, who are struggling financially may have difficulty meeting basic needs and have little extra for Christmas gifts. The Christmas Store is open to neighbors who regularly attend Highland, Freedom and Grace Fellowship. Registration is required and participants are encouraged to participate in community service from September through December. The volunteer hours are then converted into Christmas Store credit that they can use to buy Christmas gifts during the one-day, Christmas Store shopping time on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Volunteers are needed to make this opportunity work and you can help in several ways.

THE CHRISTMAS STORE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

The Christmas Store Toy and Gift Drive (November 1 – December 13, 2025): The Store needs donations of new and/or gently used toys and gifts for all ages. All types of gifts are welcomed. There is a special need for gifts for older children (11-18 years) and for men. Donations of gift certificates to local stores (HEB, Walmart, United) also help participants purchase their holiday meals. A list of suggested gift items is available at the Highland Information Desk. Decorated Christmas boxes will also be located in the atrium after November 1, 2025 for you to drop off your donations of gifts.

The Christmas Store Set-up/Clean-Up (October – December): Volunteers can also help with a donation of time. Individuals and groups of 6 or more can help serve in a variety of tasks including sorting gifts, helping to set up the Store, decorating the Pantry in the holiday spirit and setting up the gift wrapping stations.

Christmas Store Shopping Day (Saturday, December 13, 2025): Volunteers are needed to assist with shopping, and act as cashiers during designated time slots. Throughout the shopping day, volunteers can help serve in a variety of tasks including assisting shoppers, assisting neighbors and children with gift wrapping and clean-up as the Store closes for the day.
