Carissa has a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. She has been supporting individuals, couples, and families at Highland since 2022. She uses a holistic and collaborative approach to help you navigate tough challenges that make it difficult to find balance and maintain hope. She is passionate about helping you discover your path back to balance and restoring hope. Carissa and her husband, Zachary, made Abilene their home in 2020. In her off time, Carissa loves walking alongside young adults and women of all ages at Hillcrest Church of Christ, where Zachary is the college minister.
Areas of emphasis: anxiety; stage of life transitions; spiritual issues; navigating emotions/emotional regulation; communication barriers; and preparation for marriage.
