Gretchen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist–Supervisor and the founding director of Highland Counseling Center, which she helped launch in 2016. She offers clinical supervision to therapists at Highland and the Marriage and Family Institute at Abilene Christian University, as well as to provisionally licensed therapists working toward independent practice.
As a therapist, Gretchen draws from a trauma-informed, attachment-focused lens to support individuals, couples, and families through life transitions and emotional challenges. She integrates insights from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients explore their inner world, heal emotional wounds, and build secure, connected relationships.
Gretchen is passionate about helping people deepen self-awareness and self-compassion, strengthen meaningful connections, and engage life with greater clarity and confidence. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing and growth occur in the context of safe, attuned relationships—including our relationships with ourselves, others, and a loving God.
