We believe that Christians are called to share the light of Christ in a world that desperately needs to know the love of our Savior. Urban Light in Chiang Mai, Thailand is an organization working with boys and young who live on the street and are in danger of being trafficked. They provide food, shelter, basic medical care, job training and more as they help walk alongside these young men who need help. We support their bold and courageous work in the city as Urban Light lives out the mission embedded in their name. They serve as a source of light and hope as the work to end the exploitation of people who are sold to make profit in places of darkness.
We partner with them because we want to join God in shining light that helps boys in need, illuminating a vision of God’s restoration where darkness does not enslave and profit from human trafficking.
Eden/New Hope Ministries Overview
Myanmar is one of the poorest countries in the world, where children and families live in extreme poverty. Suffering people are close to God’s heart, and our partnership with New Hope and Eden Ministries is making a difference in the lives of children and families who have been displaced by the tragedy of civil war and the collapse of the economy due to the destabilization of their government.
Finding work is hard, and as families have no access to regular income, many are sending their children to work collecting bottles for recycling or working in the village market. Because the children are often alone as they work, they are at high risk for trafficking and abduction. Eden Ministries neighborhood community centers provide shelter, clean water, a daily meal, first aid, and safe spaces to share about the hardships of life.
